As explained above, it's also really important to wash black jeans as little as possible.
White streaks on your favorite black jeans? They're caused by friction with other clothes in the wash. Add no more than 3 items to your jeans and you can be sure no streaks will appear! Very important: wash your men's jeans inside out. Wash them with other blacks. Liquid detergent is the best option, as it prevents marks on your black clothes. Choose a detergent made for black clothing: it contains tiny dye particles that your jeans absorb during the wash.
And steam is your best friend for getting the creases out! Better skip the iron, as it leaves streaks. It can also damage the elastane & fibers of your jeans.

Here are three steps to washing your jeans.
1. Before the wash:
-Turn your jeans inside out before putting them in the machine.
-Give your jeans some room. 3 items max to avoid streaks.
-Empty the pockets.
2. In the wash:
-Wash at 30°C. Cold water shocks your jeans just as much as hot water.
-A jeans or wool program is the way to go.
-Fabric softener breaks down the fibers faster, so better not use it.
3. After the wash:
-Dry your jeans on a rack or washing line, not in the tumble dryer.
-Give them a good shake, smooth them out by hand and hang them up. That's all it takes. Better not use an iron.
-And put them back on as soon as possible, of course. :-)
Some washing machines have a special jeans program. It uses more water to give the jeans an extra rinse. The aim is to make sure no detergent residue is left behind in your favorite jeans.
We always recommend washing your jeans at 30° to keep wash damage to a minimum. When a machine runs above 30°C, hard water and limescale can fool it. A heavily scaled thermostat senses far too late that the water is already above 30°C. As a result, your jeans get washed hotter than intended.
Yes, jeans can shrink in the wash too if you don't treat them right. What people often forget is that clothes washed with the wrong detergent can shrink as well.
